Ayahuasca Ceremony in Ecuador

Please read: Feather Crown services in late 2010 and early 2011

What is Ayahuasca?

Ayahuasca is a traditional healing plant brew used for millennia by countless generations of indigenous shamans of the Amazon in sacred ceremonies. It is a powerful tool for self-discovery and holistic healing. Ayahuasca helps to release unuseful patterns, gain positive energy and attract luck. It allows individuals to connect with their inner healers - their real selves - and obtain important guidance. By going though the uneasy process of purification, one becomes empowered, centered and firmly positioned on one's own path of a heart. Sharing this positive healing energy with others helps to heal the collective mind, which ultimately heals the Mother Earth.

Ayahuasca Ceremonies through Feather Crown in Ecuador

Ceremonies in Ecuador arranged by Feather Crown are professionaly organized events held by authentic indigenous shamans in the original setting and respecting the traditional customs. The healers are wise community elders and who have been working with the sacred plants since their childhood and underwent strict shamanic initiation and received blessings and teaching not only from human teachers, but also from the masters of the spiritual realms. From the numerous shamans who can be found in this area, we have selected those who perform the most profound healings and who are prepared to accomodate visitors. Every ceremony is well-prepared and unique healing experience.

What does a typical Ayahuasca ceremony look like?

Each participant of the ceremony takes only a light lunch and then fasts until the ceremony. The earthly-tasting drink is taken around 8-9pm and its main effects last 3-5 hours. The ceremony is conducted in darkness during which time, the shaman may sing or play traditional instruments. In the altered state one receives powerful healing of the physical, emotional and spiritual body. Normally unaccessible knowledge is accessed. . The plants can produce visions and visuals. The shaman gives each participant an individual "cleansing" of the spiritual body, using the leaf fan surupanga. The purpose of the cleansing is to expel bad spirits and attract good ones, bring luck, protection and spiritual power. The use of special fragrant medicinal mixtures sprayed on the body and in the air is often part of the ceremony, and strengthens the healing process. After ceremony, comfortable and clean accomodation is prepared, with beds, matraces, mosquito nets. In the morning, delicious breakfast is served by the family.

Tune up with healing singing bowls

To quiet the mind and acquire tranquility before the intensive experience with Ayahuasca, we offer individual sessions with antique Nepalese singing bowls. A session with those healing tools helps to release tension and become relaxed, harmonized and protected before the work with the plant spirits. The session takes 45 minutes and need to be pre-arranged the day before the ceremony.
