Overview
Intensive work with the sacred healing
and visionary plant Ayahuasca during extended retreat in the
tropical paradise of Ecuador under the guidance of an excellent
indigenous shaman. Magical introduction to the world of Ayahuasca
or opportunity to learn more from it.
This retreat aims at cleansing and strengthening
of one's body, mind and spirit, connecting with nature and
its wisdom, acquiring shamanic skills and experiencing unique
and authentic Ecuadorian plant shamanism in its best shape.
Expect the retreat to be deeply transformative and profoundly
healing. Our goal is to empower individuals so that they have
the strength to defend Mother Earth and be a transformative
force, bringing the wisdom and the messages from the plant
kingdom.

Authenticity
The goal of this retreat is to provide
an authentic experience "within the tribe", unlike
most of the commercial retreats. The Ayahuasca ritual is very
different from the one practiced in Peru, very beutiful and
unique. We do not run a "commercial centre." The
event is hosted by an authentic indigenous family, which has
been prepared for receiving the visitors. The family is happy
to welcome us and share their knowledge with us. The major
part of the money paid for the retreat always goes to the
family, not foreigns investors or Feather Crown.
Setting and Accomodation
The retreat takes place in a true tropical
paradise of the Upper Amazon in Ecuador in the Napo
province. The lodge is owned by the family and is situated
in a distance from the nearest town surrounded by hundreds
of edible, decorative and medicinal plants. There are several
sacred places nearby. Keen observers will catch sight of many
animals (hundreds of different insects, humming birds, night
monkeys, condors, owls). The Ayahuasca ceremonies take place
in a spacious traditionally constructed temple. Participants
sleep in traditional wooden cabins with beds, mattresses and
mosquito nets. Flushing toilets. Showers with cold water.
The place is humble and far from luxurious, which is the price
paid for authenticity and living within the Kichwa family.
However, it is clean and offers basic comforts.
Food
Simple delicious Ecuadorian-style dishes
with yuca, green bananas, organic chicken, fish, organic quality
vegetables, lots of tropical fruits, juices & traditional
specialties (chicha, avena). We will follow the "shamanic
diet" which doesn't interfere with the effect of the
plant medicine. This is necessary to make the best of one's
stay. Menu for vegetarians or vegans available.
The shaman
Ayahuasca ceremonies are led by an elder
indigenous yachak ("the one who knows").
Since the very first day he was born, he had been prepared
to become a powerful shaman. As soon as at the age of 8, he
was visited by the spirits who took him to the "other
worlds", where he received blessings from the spirit
Masters who allowed him to gain the powers of supreme natural
forces such as the lightning, jaguar, anaconda and condor.
The shaman is a true curandero who never uses his skills and
knowledge to harm people. He does not abuse alcohol. He stresses
the necessity to be correct in front of the face of God to
have healing powers. He sings and plays several instruments
during the ceremony and calls spirits to come to protect,
heal and give power.
The individual shamanic cleansing "la limpia"
During each ceremony, the shaman always
works with each person individually and performs an energetical
cleansing and empowering called limpia, during which
he drives away any negative forces and attracts luck and good
spirits. Many people from all around Ecuador seek the shaman
because of his ability to cure many ilnesses, including the
terminal ones. Limpia expands the work of the Ayahuasca
and is very important in the work with it.
The Ayahuasca Medicine
For his work we'll use one of the most
visionary Ayahuasca brews in the province. Two plants will
be used: The ayahuasca vine (Banisteriopsis caapi)
and the leaves from the chalipanga vine (Diplopterys
cabrerana) make the magic potion of which the effects last
4 hours or more. There will be plenty of strong mapacho,
the natural shamanic tobacco available for smoking (please
bring big cigarette papers or pipes)..
Program of the retreat
The retreat offers maximum that can
be done in 10 days, including four times Ayahuasca
