perform healing work with traditional plant medicines.
Do I have to take Malaria pills in
Ecuador?
The risk of getting malaria is very low in the area around the city
Tena in the Napo province. For people who bring malaria from other
parts of the country there is a malaria center in Tena offering
quick and efficient treatment.
Should I stick to one shaman or switch
from one to another?
Staying with one shaman can allow one to go progressively deeper
than if one switches from one shaman to another.

Can I take a photo of the shaman?
Shamans are usually willing to give permission to take fotos, including
when they are in their traditional ceremonial outfit. However, it
is forbidden to use flash after the ceremony has begun or to disturb
others by light or sounds of the camera.
